For this trip, we chose to stay closer to home.  Our drive to Skyline Drive was leisurely, including a stop to see Beila’s Ballet at Wolf Trap.

Among the highlight’s of the trip was a stop at Luray Caverns and a later stop at Natural Bridge Caverns.  Luray may be bigger, but our guide at Natural Bridge Caverns was delightfully informed, as well as better spoken.  The 2 guides couldn’t have been more than a couple of years apart, but the Luray guide spoke a truly lazy, sometimes incomprehensible back-country dialect.

The other highlights of our trip include a relaxing drive along the Skyline Drive, stopping occasionally to see where a walking path might lead, an excellent evening of Shakespeare at the Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton, several great meals there, a back road tour - looking for views, and visiting the Natural Bridge.

Enjoy.
